Charlie was born in 1976 and grew up in Rhode Island. He really began acting in 2000 with small parts here and there. In 2001, he earned a recurring role as Michael Boscorelli in Third Watch. Through 2002-2004 he continued working with bit parts in television and movies, as well as a recurring role as Richie in Luis.
But in 2005 he got his big break as writer, producer and actor in It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia. Starring as Charlie Kelly he continues to be a driving force in the show’s success. Along with his continuing work with It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Charlie is also writing and producing Boldly Going Nowhere as of 2008. The show had it’s pilot in October of 2008, and FOX has ordered five more episodes.
Coming up in 2010, Charlie has a role alongside Drew Barrymore and other big stars in Going the Distance. Season 5 of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia is set to premiere September 17th, 2009 so be sure to watch it and catch Charlie Day in action.
