Edward Helms

Edward "Ed" Helms was born in 1974 in Georgia.

He began his career as a producer and writer for New York Sketch Comedy bands. And the same time he worked as a trainee film editor which led to some rough voice over "sketch tracks", which eventually led to real voice over work, which eventually led to an agent.

He was working as a comic in New York when he attending an opening casting for The Daily Show. He got the part and began a tenure on the Daily Show in 2002. Though he left the show in 2006, he occasionally returns for special segments and even does some work for the Colbert Report.

In 2006, he joined the cast of The Office, for ten episodes in the third season. By the fourth season he was promoted to a regular on the show.

He was in numerous movies with small roles including Meet Dave, The Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian, Evan Almighty and Walk Hard.

He got his big film break in 2009 with a starring role in the blockbuster film The Hangover as Stu the dentist. His face can be seen on many of the movie promotions with the now infamous line "Am I missing a tooth?" The same year he appeared in The Goods.
