This is the 23rd post in our Musician of the Day series.
The Curtain Society was formed in Southbridge, Massachusetts in 1988, and consists of: Robert Lavallee on guitar and vocals, Ron Mominee on bass and vocals, and Duncan Arsenault on percussion (he replaced Jeff Paul). The band has secured a strong following due to their ability to blend together pop and alternative rock.
Their first releases were a few EPs and cassettes with Apostrophe Records, which was a label under Lavallee. In 1993, they signed with Bedazzled Records and released Inertia in 1995. Following the release of Inertia the band worked on a number of compilation albums before releasing Life is Long, Still in 1996.
In 2000, the band released an EP entitled Volume, Tone, Tempo just before Bedazzled ceased operating. In 2005, they released Every Corner of the Room under Orcaphat records. This music has been featured on episodes of The Young and the Restless and the movie Still Green.
