Mary Elizabeth Ellis was born in Laurel, Mississippi.
In March of 2006 she married Charlie Day, writer, producer and actor for It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia. It is for this that Charlie Day is most well known, and now the same can be said for his wife as well. Mary Elizabeth Ellis has a recurring role as The Waitress in her husband's television series.
But before she even met her husband she had some acting experience though for many years her main source of income was working as a gymnastics instructor. It was in 2004 that she got a guest role on the show Cracking up as Jennifer in the fourth episode of the series. A few months later she appeared on an episode of Reno 911! as an inbred twin.
In was in 2005 that she made her appearance in the role that she is now most known for. She appeared in the first two episodes of the series It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia and she continued to make appearances on the show over the years.
In 2006 she got another guest role as Sophie in the third season of the hit television series House, M.D.
