This is the 32nd post in our Musician of the Day series.
Nathan was born in Owensboro, KY and has risen through the Indie ranks to become a major underground hit. His first EP, Leaving Duraleigh, was released in 2005 and the independently released album was a hit with fans who loved him not only for his great pop sound but also for his sexy model quality looks. One of the songs on the album Close Like Me is now a featured song on American Airlines flights and part of the compilation album Hope Vol. 1, which features great musicians like Johnny Cash and Lisa Loeb.
In November of 2007, Nathan released his first full length album, A Gentleman's Closure, which in 2009 spent 3 months on the top of the Indie charts, with the ballad Broken but Breathing spearheading the success. A Gentleman's Closure has become so popular that it has caught the attention of MTV, E! Entertainment and Oxygen, and all of them have signed non-exclusive agreements to play the album. The album also features the song Closure which has been picked up for rotation in Starbucks coffee shops because of it's beautiful piano driven sound.
In 2008, Nathan was named MySpace's number 1 unsigned artist in Kentucky with over 500,000 plays to date.
Recently he has released a brand new EP, Just Me, Just You, which is produced by Grammy nominated Ryan Farish. The album will certainly gain Nathan even more attention as his voice, looks, and studio quality independent albums become better with each new song.
