This is the 12th post in our Artist of the Week series.

Amy Brown was born in 1972 and has always had an interest in fairies. Throughout her childhood she found herself always inspired by fantasy movies and stories, and it is this aspect of fantasy that always comes forth in her art.

She truly started her art career in 1992 when she started work at a gallery called Festival of Art. It was there that she learned all about art and design, and it was also where she sold her very first print. Amy focused on selling in the gallery and various shops until 1997 when she debuted her first website. At first the website simply displayed her art, but it was not long before requests to purchase prints started coming in.

The site became so popular that the Gothic clothing chain Hot Topic contacted her about licensing her work. As beautiful fairy postcards and stickers began to fill up Hot Topic shelves, the popularity of Amy's site only grew. It was in 2002 that she got the idea to publish her own art book, and while she initially had a struggle finding a publisher, the book became a success. In fact a few years later she released another.
