This is the 43rd post in our Musician of the Day series.

Floater is an American rock band formed in 1993 and it consists of David Amador, Peter Cornett, Robert Wynia.

The band was formed with Peter and Robert left the band Henry's Child, and they soon recruited David. The began recording small demos and playing small garage parties and then at the University of Oregon. They recorded a nine song demo which gained the attention of recording label Elemental, who signed them soon after. In 1994, they released their first album, Sink.

A year later they released Glyph, which continued to grow their fanbase and get a wider range on their tour. The combined sales of the two albums was 21,000.

Just before they released their third album the band moved to Portland, where they still live to this day.

In 2000, they released their fourth album Burning Sosobra which was a deviation from their previous work in that they no longer incorporated sounds from movies or shows. Everything put on the album they created themselves, they also broke free of negative influences and the band began to gain even more popularity.

In 2004, they released an album entitled Acoustics which showed a new direction the band was taking in that they were not incorporating acoustic sets into their performance.

Their most recent album Stone by Stone was released in 2006, but their have been rumors that the band is currently working on their eighth studio album.
