This is the 33rd post in our Musician of the Day series.

Röyksopp is a Norwegian electronic music duo consisting of Torbjǿrn Bruntland and Svein Berge. They became an official band in 1998 and in 2001 they released their first album Melody A.M. under the label Wall of Sound. The name for the band came from a variation on the Norwegian word for puffball mushroom, rǿyksopp.

Their first album spawned the hit single Eple and a number of successful music videos. The music video for Remind Me won the 2002 MTV Europe Music Award. They were nominated for three other awards as well including Best New Act.

In 2005, they released their second studio album, The Understanding. The third single from this album, What Else is There?, reached the top of the British Dance Chart. 2006 saw the release of their live album which included a re imaging of the Queens of Stone Age song Go With the Flow.

In 2009, Röyksopp released their third studio album, Junior, which features the single Happy Up Here. The album is going to be followed by another album, Senior, in Winter of 2009.
