This British child star was born in 1986 to a very talented family. The son of director Charles Sturridge, and actress Phoebe Nicholls, and the grandson of Anthony Nicholls and Faith Kent, it is easy to see why Tom got into film. With the acting bug in his blood, his father cast him in the made for TV movie that he was directing entitled Gulliver’s Travels in 1996, which also starred his mother. After Gulliver’s Travels, Tom took on a role in Fairy Tale: A True Story.
Tom largely disappeared from the public eye after Fairy Tale: A True Story and did not reemerge until 2004. He then took on roles in Vanity Fair and Being Julia. In 2006, he given the lead in Like Minds. He was also given the lead in the movie Jumper but the studio later changed their mind, afraid of risking a $100 million movie on an unknown actor.
His most recent projects were The Boat that Rocked which released in 2009 and Waiting for Forever which will release in late 2009. With the acclaim that his recent work has received is obvious that this determined legacy actor will soon rise to the top.
