Englishman Charlie Cox was born in 1982 as the youngest of 5 children, but he did not let that stop him from taking the spotlight. Wanting to be an actor he began studying at the Sherborne School where he acted in a wide variety of plays including Dealer’s Choice and Henry V. Before graduating he received the Gerald Pitman Award for Acting from the Sherborne School.
His career began to take off when he was given a role in Judge John Deed as the Young Vicar in 2002 and the role of Theo in the 2003 hit Dot the I. In 2004, he acted in a two lesser known movies The Merchant of Venice and Things to do Before You’re 30. After working a few films and made for TV movies, he got the role that he is most known for, Tristan in Stardust.
Stardust elevated him to instant heartthrob status and the following year in 2008 in got the lead role in the movie Stone of Destiny. 2009 took his work in a slightly new direction in the indie film T Takes: Brooklyn 09 and Glorious 39.
His current project is a movie set to release in 2010 entitled There be Dragons in which he plays the lead Josemaria.
