This is the 24th post in our Musician of the Day series.
Bobby Nesbitt has made a name for himself as an old-fashioned singer with a pure and beautiful style. Starting out in New York, he was trained in classical piano from a young age.
In the 80’s his singing career began to take off as he was commissioned to sing at Harry’s New York Bar, causing him to move to Europe and perform in both Berlin and Munich. He made his way into London first by playing at the Jules Bar and then by being the first singer/pianist at the American bar at the infamous Savoy Hotel. In 1991 he returned to the States and made his debut in New York as part of a cabaret convention.
In 1996, he took a two year contract performing at the Fairmont hotel in San Francisco. After continuing to travel and take gigs where he could he began his biggest project in 2001. His debut album, Big Time is now available and lends Bobby’s amazing voice to classic songs including: They Can’t Take That Away From Me, Teach Me Tonight and I’ll be Seeing You.
Classic radio stations have fallen in love with his voice and renditions of songs they all believed they knew so well. This old-fashioned classical musician will ensure that these beautiful classic songs will once again thrive with new life and never be forgotten.
