This is the 20th post in our Musician of the Day series.

Born in 1986, this Norwegian beauty became an overnight sensation at the age of 15 when her single My Lullaby took over the radio and even became a popular ringtone. She wrote the song at the age of 13 and pleaded with her father to use his music connections in order to get her song heard. He consented and eventually Sony Music signed her.

My Lullaby was released as the second single from the album, Another Phase, which was released on the tails of the success of My Lullaby. In 2004, she released an international album White Turns Blue which included the hit single You’re the Only One. She also released a Norwegian album entitled Mellow.

In 2005, Apparently Unaffected was released in Norway and several other European countries. Her most recent album Cause and Effect was released in 2008 and it gained her a Spellemann for Best Female Artist.

Her songs Sorry and What’s Another Day, were featured on So You Think You Can Dance
