Robert A. "Rob" Riggle, Jr. was born in 1970 in Kentucky.
Rob earned a degree in Drama and Film from the University of Kansas and a Master's degree in Public Administration from Webster University.
He is also a Lieutenant Colonel in the United States Marine Corps Reserve. He had done tours in Liberia. Kosovo and Afghanistan.
Rob's comedy career began with his partnership with Rob Huebel. The pair began performing comedy acts and doing improv at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theater. They created a two man show called Kung Fu Grip which they performed for two years at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theater and other comedy theaters. The show was so popular that it was featured in the 2004 Comedy Arts Festival.
The pair then began appearing in a number of Comedy Central and VH1 commentary programs including Best Week Ever and A2Z.
In the summer of 2004, the pair was invited to audition for Saturday Night Live, but only Rob Riggle made the cut. He performed as a regular cast member for the 2004-2005 season. After his stint on SNL he rejoined Huebel and the pair began working on other projects together.
In 2006, Rob Riggle joined the cast of The Daily Show as a correspondent. He is perhaps most known for his segment in which he traveled to Iraq and spent time with the soldiers.
He has also had supporting roles in a number of films including The Hangover, Step Brothers and The Goods: Live Hard, Sell Hard.
