Nicole Houston "Nikki" Reed was born in 1988 in West Los Angeles. Nicole had a difficult childhood. Her parents divorced when she was 2 causing Nikki to go and live with her mother. At the age of 12 Nikki and her mother began butting heads when Nikki became rebellious and started experimenting with alcohol and drugs. Nikki become emancipated at 14 and started living on her own.
Her career in acting and movies began when she wrote a screenplay with Catherine Hardwicke that was semi-autobiographical about her life at 13. The film, Thirteen, went into production and the producers asked Nikki if she could play one of the parts because they felt it would be too awkward for most young actresses. The movie was released in 2003 and starred Evan Rachel Wood.
After the movie, Nikki earned recognition as both a screenwriter and an actress. She was asked to host a number of award shows including the Young Hollywood Awards and the West Independent Spirits Awards.
Throughout her acting career she continued to play promiscuous teenagers, one of her most distinctive roles was Mini's First Time in which Nikki plays a teenager who seduces her stepfather and convinces him to kill her mother. The movie features explicit sex scenes but all of them had to be filmed pointed at Nikki's back because she was only 16 at the time.
Today she is most known for her role as Rosalie Hale in the Twilight series.
