Evangeline Lilly was born in 1979 in Canada. Her family was devout evangelical Christian and growing up Evangeline's family did not have a TV. She went to the Phillippines as a missionary and did so well that she was offered a two year position there. She declined the position at the wishes of her parents. She instead became a flight attendant and speaks good French.
Evangeline's career started when she was discovered on the streets by the Ford Modeling Company. Though Evangeline did not want to become a model, she took the job in order to pay for her college tuition. At Ford she never worked as a fashion model, instead she was part of their acting branch.
Her first acting jobs included working as an extra in Freddy v Jasion, The Lizzie Maguire Movie, and Smallville as well as being the face of LiveLinks Chatline. Her first speaking part came when she was cast as Katherine Anne "Kate" Austen in Lost.
Once she has finished her role in Lost she hopes to become a humanitarian aid worker.
