Rachel Nichols a was born in 1980 in Maine. After graduating high school, Rachel decided to attend Columbia University in order to study psychology. It was at this that Rachel says she "stumbled into modeling" and decided to give it a try. It was while she was modeling that she decided to enroll in drama classes at Columbia.
She took on bit parts in various tv shows and films but her first auditioned role came in a 2002 episode of Sex and the City where she played an orgy loving restaurant hostess. The following year she was cast as Jessica in the movie Dumb & Dumberer: When Harry Met Lloyd.
The movie gave her the exposure for a few more bit parts in movies but more importantly it got the attention of FOX who cast her as the lead in their new series The Inside Though the series was constantly being retooled, the one constant was always Rachel. The show premiered in 2005, but did not last very long.
After the series failed, Rachel quickly found herself a part on the show Alias as Rachel Gibson. She continued to be a constant player in the show until it's cancellation in 2006.
It was then that she decided to go back to movies and took on a few small roles. It was in 2009 that she really made a splash on the big screen with a small role in the blockbuster Star Trek and a much larger role in G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra as Shana "Scarlett" O'Hara.
