Rupert Evans was born in 1977 in Staffordshire, England.
He attended the Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art. Rupert started his acting career with television with a role in an episode of My Family in 2001. The following year found him with recurring roles in Rockface and Paradise Heights.
In 2003, he had a starring role in the television movie Sons & Lovers as Paul Morel.
His first role on the big screen came in 2004 with Hellboy in the role of FBI Agent John Myers. After this brief stint in mainstream movies, Rupert returned to the small screen for roles in North and South and The Palace.
He took on a few roles in independent movies but his next attempt in mainstream film comes October 9th with the release of Agora starring Rachel Weisz and Max Minghella. The movie is set in Roman Egypt and tells the story of a slave who longs for freedom and the love of his beautiful master Hypatia of Alexandria.
He is slated to play the lead in Frost Flowers, a new movie to be released in 2010. The movie tells the story of a man who can cross the boundary between life and death and can actually touch spirits. He falls in love with one and the two manage to have a child, but the lines can only be stretched so far and the occurrence can only be reconciled by David's death in order for their child to live.
