Gabriel Mann

This is the 69th post in our Musician of the Day series.



Gabriel Mann is a musician tearing up the Indie scene. He grew up as somewhat of a self-proclaimed loser and spent his time writing songs about outer space.

After high school Gabriel Mann went off to college in Philadelphia and majored in music composition. At this time he was also involved in two musical groups, one of which was an accapella group called Off The Beat and the other was a rock group called Thriphtway.

After college, Gabriel decided it was time to move to L.A. because well, where else do you make a living as a musician? He ended up working as an assistant to a musical composer while writing his own songs in his offtime. In 2000, he released his first album entitled Careen and finally began playing and living like a musician.

Today Gabriel has released three more albums and an EP, which the most recent being Tall Buildings which was released in 2007. Gabriel has been listed at one of the top 100 unsigned artists for a number of years and has even has his music featured on a number of television shows and movies including Arrested Development, Office Space, Ghost Ship, Road Rules, Real World, Sleepover, What About Brian and more.

Gabriel also plays with a band called the Rescues and has opened for the likes of Alanis Morissette and the Rolling Stones.
