Jimmi Simpson was born in 1975 in New Jersey. He graduated from Bloomfield University and spent four seasons at the Williamstown Theater Festival.
He made his debut into acting in 2000 as Noah in Loser. After his film debut, Jimmi started to make his way into film with a role in Rose Red in 2002. His big break in television was a recurring role in 24 as Chris in 2002. From 2005-2007 he was in four episodes of Its Always Sunny in Philadelphia. He also has a recurring role in the David Letterman Show as Lyle the Intern.
His biggest television role is as one of the stars in the new series Virtuality which just premiered in June.
Over the years he took a number of roles in movies like Stay Alive, Zodiac, Seraphim Falls, and Good Intentions. His most recent film role is in the Invention of Lying which just opened in theaters last Friday. He has two more films due to release in 2009 entitled Patriotville and The Mother of Invention.
Jimmi also has had a strong career on Broadway playing Philip T. Farnsworth in The Farnsworth Invention. His other Broadway performances include Tartuffe, A Midsummer's Night Dream and The Rainmaker.
Jimmi is currently married to actress Melanie Lynskey.
