The Virgins

The Virgins were formed in 2006 in New York. The band members are Donald Cumming (vocals and guitar), Wade Oates (guitar), and Nick Zarin-Ackerman (bass). The band name was conceived by Donald even before he formed the band and it has since become the butt of a number of puns and jokes.

Immediately after formed the band began working on their EP which featured five songs and was entitled The Virgins '07. Once it was finished Donald began handing it out to DJs and friends, and eventually the songs began to make their way into the New York Club Scene. They EP reached Atlantic Records and the group was soon signed.

In 2008 the band released their first full length album entitled The Virgins. Since then they have toured with Jet, opened for Sonic Youth and Patti Smith and have traveled as far as Norway promoting their music. Their music is becoming known throughout the world and their song "Rich Girls" was number 68 on Rolling Stones' list of the top 100 songs of 2008.

Currently the band is promoting their music through a European tour.
