This is the 60th post in our Musician of the Day series.

Reggie and the Full Effect is a Kansas City based Indie Pop band, and is the solo project for Jason Dewees. Jason Dewees is also a member of the Get Up Kids.

It was in the late 1990s when Jason was with the Get Up Kids that he began writing songs that did not fit with the sound of the Get up Kids. He continued to write and eventually Matt Pryor, another member of the Get Up Kids, helped Jason put together and produce his first album Greatest Hits 1984-1987 which was released in 1998.

Two years later Jason put out another album but this time it was on the Vagrant Records label. This album was called Promotional Copy. Three years later this was followed by Under the Tray.

His fourth album Songs Not to Get Married too was released in 2005 and had the biggest impact of his albums to date. It created a number of popular singles, and even spawned a tour. Most of the songs on the album were inspired by Jason's own divorce.

In 2006 the band left tour in order to begin working on a new album. When no album was released in 2006, rumors began circulating in 2007 that the band had broken up. In 2008 a new album was released and all rumors or evidence that the band had broken up disappeared. Last Stop Crappy Town was released in June of 2008.

On the albums Reggie plays nearly every instrument and at live performances the lineup for who plays what constantly changes but will usually feature members from his old bands, like the Get up Kids.
