Adam Lambert was born in 1982 in Indiana but moved to California soon after. Adam's love of music and performing was apparent even as a child as he started stage acting at the age of ten and in high school when he was involved with theater, choir and singing with the Jazz band.
His big break came when he auditioned for the 8th season of American Idol in San Francisco, California. He would later state that his decision to audition came from experimenting with 'shrooms.
But whatever the reason, it became a turning point as Adam not only made it Hollywood he made it all the way to the top ten, finally finishing the show as its runner up. He lost to Kris Allen.
It was while performing on Idol that rumors about his sexuality began to surface and they rose to a boil when a picture of Adam kissing a man was released. Adam denied nothing and said that he had always been open about his sexuality. People have since wondered if his sexuality impacted the final vote.
Since Idol, Adam has been busy with the American Idol LIVE! tour in which the top ten finalists go on on tour together and working on his debut album. Currently the album is set to release November 24th, 2009.
