This is the 79th post in our Musician of the Day series.
The Faint was formed in Nebraska in 1995. The original members of the band were Clark Baechle (percussion, drums), Todd Fink (vocals, keyboard), and Joel Petersen (bass). The band signed to Saddlecreek records and released their first album Media. Around this time they also added Jacob Thiele (keyboards, backup vocals) to the band roster.
In 1999 they released their second record on Saddlecreek entitled Blank-Wave Arcade and the following year they released Blank-Wave Arcade remixes.
In 2001 they were in the middle of putting together their album Danse Macabre when they added Dapose (guitars) to the band. They also did a remix of that album in 2003.
In 2004, they released their last album with SaddleCreek entitled Wet From Birth. It was after this that they decided to leave SaddleCreek in order to work under their own blank.wav imprint. In 2008 they released Fasciinatiion which was their most successful album, reaching #46 on the U.S. charts.
They spent the spring of 2009 on a North American tour with Ladytron which ended in May.
