Anna Kendrick was born in 1985 in Maine. She was always interested in acting and when she was ten her parents would drive her all the way from Portland, Maine to New York so she could attend auditions. She got her first role at the age of 12 in the Broadway performance of High Society. The role earned her a Theatre World Award, a Drama Desk Award and some Tony nominations. Following her success in High Society she became the toast of Broadway and was featured in a number of performances.
It wasn't until 2003 that she broke into film with a role in the musical comedy Camp. Her next role was in the 2007 movie Rocket Science as Ginny Ryerson. Her performance was highly praised by critics and she earned an Independent Spirit Award nomination for best supporting actress.
In 2007 she auditioned for the role of Jessica Stanley in Twilight and despite feeling ill and having to leave her initial audition, she was called back to audition again and was given the part. She will be playing Jessica Stanley for the rest of the Twilight series. But despite such a big opportunity, Anna was not done yet.
In 2009 not only will Anna be in the sequel to Twilight, New Moon, but she will also be in The Marc Pease Experience in which she stars alongside Ben Stiller and Jason Schwartzman as a high school student involved in musical theater. Elsewhere and Up in the Air were also 2009 releases featuring Anna.
2010 currently has the Twilight movie, Eclipse and the movie adaptation of the Scott Pilgrim graphic novel entitled Scott Pilgrim Vs. the World.
