This is the 6th post in our Musician of the Day series.
L.A. singer Sonny Moore was born in 1988, and received his first guitar at the age of nine. Surprisingly, Sonny got his big break at the age of 15 when he met Matt Good through MySpace. When the guitar player for Matt’s band quit, Sonny went out to Georgia to replace him. But Sonny ended up taking over more than guitar as once the band heard him sing, they made him lead vocals as well.
Sonny went on tour with Matt’s band called From First to Last until 2006, when Sonny began suffering from vocal problems. The band was forced to cancel their tour while Sonny underwent numerous surgical procedures. Even though the procedures were successful, Sonny decided to permanently resign from the band in order to pursue his solo career.
In 2007, Sonny officially began his solo career, and after months of putting demos on MySpace, he was invited to perform on the Team Sleep Tour. Since then Moore has continued touring with different bands and even headlining. His first album entitled Bells is set to release in late 2009.
