This saucy Mexican-American wrestler was born in 1979 in Los Angeles and she brought that big city attitude with her to the WWE. Like many other female wrestlers, Melina started off as a model. But in 2000 she met with Mike Henderson, who convinced her to go into wrestling. So she enrolled in Jesse Hernandez's School of Hard Knocks. Two years later she debuted on a tour of the independent wrestling scene.
In 2004, she entered into the world of the WWE in Ohio Valley Wrestling. She eventually aligned herself with Nitro and Joey Matthews (later Mercury) and the trio earned the name MNM and ended up winning the Southern Tag Team Championship.
MNM came on to the Smackdown! scene in 2005, in their first ever Smackdown! match MNM beat Mysterio & Eddie Guerrero. In June of the same year Melina got her first ever pay per view fight against Torrie Wilson. In 2006, Melina and Nitro made their way into RAW picking numerous feuds along the way.
Melina has won 3 WWE Women’s Championships, her most recent in January of 2009.
