This is a post in our Celebrity of the Day series.

This kiwi starlet was born in 1975 and spent much of her young life perfecting her craft. She attended Trinity College and then went on to take 6 years private teaching in Speech and Drama. After that it was not long before she became a constant fixture in New Zealand film and television.

Her first big roles were appearances in the Hercules TV movies in 1994, which earned her a spot in four episodes of Hercules: The Legendary Journeys. She continued to take small roles in highly successful television shows like McLeod’s Daughters and Xena: Warrior Princess. Finally in 1998 she was given a reoccurring role in Medivac as Dr. Stella O’Shaughness.

For years, Simone continued to take one shot parts in dozens of shows, from Stingers to Farscape. Finally in 2003 she was given her first starring role in a big screen feature film as Jeanne in Liquid Bridge.

Her more recent projects have included a reoccurring role in the second season of the television series Underbelly, as Isabelle Watson. Simone Kessell continues to skirt the limelight and it takes a sharp eye to catch her when she does take on a role, but once you find her, she never disappoints.
