Alex Shelley was born Patrick Martin in 1983 in Michigan. After he finished his schooling, Alex went on to train with Truth Martini, Breyer Wellington, Scott D'Amore, and Joe E. Legend. After which he debuted on the wrestling scene in 2002.
Alex gets his stage name from a combination of Alex DeLarge from A Clockwork Orange and Pete Shelley from the Buzzcocks. After a year traveling in the independent wrestling scene he joined the Ring of Honor in June of 2003. He made periodic appearances on the Ring of Honor from mid-2003 until early 2004, and then in 2004 to 2005 he made appearances with Generation Next.
In 2005, he joined Pro Wrestling ZERO1-MAX, winning their Open Weight Championship in Tokyo. Since 2007, he won the Paparazzi Championship presented by Total Nonstop Action Wrestling. His work with Total Nonstop Action Wrestling earned him one of his nicknames which is Total Nonstop Alex, and anyone who has been in a fight with him, knows just how fitting that name is.
With his unstoppable prowess and charisma, Alex Shelley is often thought of being one of the next big names in wrestling.
