Fight Club is a 1999 movie that was based off the 1996 novel written by Chuck Palahniuk. The movie tells the story of a nameless narrator, an insomniac who cures his sleeplessness by pretending to be a victim at support groups. But his life gets turned upside down when his apartment gets blown up and he meets Tyler Durden. The two form a fight club, an idea which becomes so popular that more fight clubs formed all over the country and eventually into a anti-materialist organization known as "Project Mayhem." When things start to unravel, Edward learns the truth about Tyler Durden and things take a very unexpected turn.
The movie stars Edward Norton, Brad Pitt and Helena Bonham Carter. Despite being hotly contested by critics the movie became a cult classic and was named one of the 50 best guy movies of all time. When it was released it was one of the most widely talked about movies, not only for it's cinematic innovation but for the ideas expressed in the film and the ending that few saw coming.
