This is the 13th post in our Muscian of the Day series.

Alice Ripley was born in 1963 in Ohio. She went to college for A bachelor of fine arts and once she graduated she became active in community theater. She made her Broadway debut in 1993 with The Who’s Tommy.

She remained on Broadway with a number of different performances but the first one to get her real acclaim was in 1997 with Side Show. She played as one half of a Siamese twin with Emily Skinner and the pair were nominated together for a Tony Award. She took a break from Broadway in 2000 and went on to work on a solo album.

Everything’s Fine
was released in 2002 to little acclaim. Alice Ripley continued with her band Ripley for a few years before releasing Outtasite in 2006. Neither album failed to make much of an impact on the music scene.

Alice Ripley returned to Broadway in 2009 when her off-Broadway show made it to Broadway, she played Diana in the musical: Next to Normal. The role won her a Tony Award for Best Performance
