The Sea Prince and the Firechild

The Sea Prince and the Firechild was released in 1981 in Japan and 1991 in the U.S. The movie was distributed by Sanrio in Japan and is an animated feature that is based on a tale of star-crossed lovers.

In the movie the Sea Prince and the Fire Child fall in love against the wishes of their parents and so they flee. The world though holds many challenges for them and it is all something they most overcome in order to be together. History states that children of the sea and children of fire must never be together in order to prevent the great war from happening all over again. Long before the Fire Child and the Sea Prince met a love similar to their own existed and it ended in a great war.

The movie has always been a popular choice among children and families who have seen it but it a largely unknown movie and one that is hard to find nowadays.
