Pierce the Veil

Pierce the Veil

This is the 87th post in our Musician of the Day series.

Pierce the Veil formed in 1998 in California. The band progressed through a number of names starting off as The Early Times in 1998. They later changed their name to Before Today which they released an album under before finally deciding on Pierce the Veil.

It was in 2004 that they were signed and released A Celebration of an Ending under the name Before Today. Pierce the Veil was the name of a song on the A Celebration of an Ending album and it was where they got the idea to change the name once again.

The band currently consists of Vic Fuentes (vocals, guitar), Mike Fuentes (drums), Jaime Preciado (bass) and Tony Perry (guitar).

In 2007 the band released their second album A Flair for the Dramatic. "I'd Rather be Famous" was on a song on the album and it was later featured in the game Tony Hawk's Proving Ground.

The band has gone on tour with a number of influential artists and were even a part of Warped Tour 2008 as well as the Taste of Chaos Tour 2009.

They have recently announced that they are in the studio working on a new album for 2010.
