Melanie Sykes

Melanie Sykes was born in 1970 in England.

It wasn't until the mid-1990s that she got her first moment in the public spotlight when she appeared in Boddingtons beer advertisements. After that she had other advertising jobs and a few modeling jobs with the most prominent being with Berlei lingerie.

From 1997 until 2001 she was co-presenter on The Big Breakfast and she had a number of other small presenting roles including Southall Stories.

In 2003 she became the host of Celebrities Under Pressure and the co-host for Today with Des and Mel.

From 2004-2009 she was a guest host on the Paul O'Grady Show and from 2005 until 2009 she was a presenter for Loose Women.

After this she took a job hosting The A-List on Heart 106.2 but left the show in 2006.

In 2006 she also published her first book Blooming Beautiful: My Plan for Looking Great, Being Healthy and Surviving Hormonal Havoc, Throughout Pregnancy and as a New Mum which was co-written with Hilary Boyd.

She has also done a number of major advertisements including Head & Shoulders in recent years and Morrisons.
