Alice Peacock

Alice Peacock on the cover of Love Remains

This is the 102nd post in our Musician of the Day series.

Alice Peacock was born in 1971 in Minnesota. She grew up in a very large and musical family. She would spend her time listening to her sisters' music which ranged from country rock to hard rock.

It was at University that she joined a Jazz band and fell in love with Jazz and Blues. After college she worked as a backup singer for an R & B group but soon left and moved back to Chicago.

Alice tried and failed to put a band together so she decided to go solo. She released her first album in 1999 on her own label, Peacock Music. The album was entitled Real Day and in 2000 it was picked up by a major label for wider distribution.

In 2002 she released her first album on a major label and it was self-titled. In 2006 she released Who I Am back on her own label but it was in cooperation with Universal Records.

Her fourth and most recent album, Love Remains was released in March 2009.
