This is the 108th post in our Musician of the Day series.



TroyLee Coleman III was born in 1970 in Texas. He earned the name Cowboy Troy in college when a friend would use it to distinguish him from this other friends named Troy.

Prior to launching his music career he worked at a Footlocker in Dallas. He released two albums independently the first Beginner's Luck in 2002 and Vintage in 2003.

In 2005 he released his first studio album Loco Motive the album debuted at #2 on the Billboard Country Charts. The single "I Play Chicken with the Train" reached #48 on the Billboard country chart and was the #1 Country download from the itunes music store on April 15, 2005.

In 2006 he co-hosted the fifth season of Nashville Star with Jewel and in 2007 she released his second album entitled Back in the Saddle. It failed to reach the success of his previous album.

His most recent album Demolition Mission: Studio Blue Sessions was released in 2009 on a new label and has so far been his least successful album.
