Kara Tointon

Kara Tointon was born in 1983 in Essex. From a young age she was interested in theater and even took speech and drama lessons. She even attended the Morgan Academy of Performing Arts.

Her first acting role came when she was called upon to play Brigitta in The Sound Of Music at the Cliff's Pavillion. After that she got a paid job playing one of the children in the pantomime Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.

She got her first role on television in 1994 as an extra in EastEnders. She then played Pauline Young in two episodes of Teachers in 2001.

She continued to get a few small roles in television and movies including a role as Gina Molliano in the series finale of Dream Team. She was also in an episode of Mile High and was an extra in Just My Luck.

Her big break came in 2005 when she was given the role of Dawn Swanson in EastEnders. She stayed on the show for four years before leaving along with her costar Ricky Groves in 2009.

She is slated to star alongside Joe Swash in the 2009/2010 Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs pantomime season.
