Amber Rose Tamblyn was born in 1983 in California. Her parents were also performers, and both were into acting. When Amber was ten she played Pippi Longstocking in a school play and her father's manager was there and ended up convincing her father to let her attend auditions.

She got her first role as Emily Brown (Emily Quatermaine) on General Hospital in 1995. She continued with the role for six years until 2001. In 2002 she starred in the pilot episode of the new Twilight Zone on UPN.

In 2003 she earned the starring role in Joan of Arcadia where she played Joan Girardi, a 16 year old who get visits from God. The show was canceled in 2005.

In 2005 she got her first major film role as one of the stars of Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants. She also returned for the sequel Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2. The following year she also had a role in The Grudge 2 which premiered at #1 in the North American box office.

Her next television role was the starring role in The Unusuals as Casey Shraeger but the series was canceled after one season.

In addition to being an actress, Amber has also published poetry books which give a unique insight into the world of Hollywood and what it is like for young actors.
