This is the 153rd post in our Celebrity of the Day series.

Johnny Galecki was born in 1975 in Belgium, but he grew up in Illinois. Johnny knew from a young age that he wanted to be an actor and by the time he was 7 he had a number of theater shows under his belt.

In 1987 he got his first film role as Doug Rule in the TV movie Murder Ordained. But he got his first major role in 1989 as Rusty Griswold in National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation.

In 1990 he got a role in the television series American Dreamer as Danny Nash. But in 1992 he got the role for that he was most know for as a young actor, David Healy in Roseanne. He appeared in the show as a regular character for five seasons.

After he role on Roseanne he wavered between bit parts in movies and roles that closely resembled his character on Roseanne, appearing in movies like Vanilla Sky, Suicide Kings, Hancock, and small parts in television shows like My Name is Earl.

But in 2007 he got another big break he was cast as Leonard Hofstadter in the comedy series The Big Bang Theory. Surprisingly The Big Bang Theory reunites him with stars from his other major television role as both Laurie Metcalf and Sara Gilbert have had roles in the show.
