Julia Othmer

Julia Othmer

This is the 102nd post in our Musician of the Day series.

Julia Othmer was born in Kentucky but moved to Kansas City when she was just a year old. She was seven when she began classically training on the piano, flute, violin and piccolo. She went on to attend Columbia University of New York and she worked hard to graduate early so that she could focus on her music.

She then went on to teach music and work on her own style while living in Philadelphia. She created a demo song called "Mission Control" and the song was voted Best Rock Song in Philadelphia and was even used as the theme song to the video game Space Station Sim.

In 2006 she released her debut album Oasis Motel which is full of her own compositions.

Julia Othmer has recently re-located to L.A. where she continues to work on her music while still receiving support from fans in Philadelphia and Kansas.
