Gloria Loring was born in 1946 in New York. She started her music career when she was just 14 performing with a folk band called Those Four.
She released her debut album Today in 1968. She followed this up with And Now We Come to Distances in 1970. In 1974 she released the the album Sing a Song for the Mountain. Throughout the 70s the success of her first three albums allowed her to appear on a number of television shows and she even performed at the Academy Awards.
She co-wrote the songs Diff'rent Strokes and Facts of Life with her husband Alan Thicke and can be heard singing the Facts of Life theme song from the second season to the last season.
In 1980 she joined the cast of Days of Our Lives as chanteuse Liz Chandler. In 1984 she released another album called A Shot in the Dark but in 1986 she released Gloria Loring which became a #2 Pop and a #1 Adult contemporary album.
She left the cast of Days of Our Lives in 1986 and focused mainly on her singing with only a few television appearances over the years.
She has since released seven more albums including her most recent in 2008 - A Playlist. She is currently working on a Best Of album which will include songs from her first three albums.
