John Noble

John Noble was born in 1948 in Australia.

In 1977 he became director of the Stage Company of South Australia. He would maintain that position for ten years and be a significant part of the cultural revival of South Australia. He even acted in a number of plays including the one man performance of The Christian Brothers.

In 1988 he got his first film role as Dr. Richards in The Dreaming. He made his television debut in 1991 with appearances in Police Rescue and Agatha Christie:Poirot.

His first major television role came in 1998 when he was cast as Dr. John Madsen in All Saints.

In 2003 he appeared in Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King as Denethor.

Though he has appeared in a number of films and had guest appearances on a variety of shows, today he is most known for his starring role as Dr. Walter Bishop in Fringe.

He is also slated to appear in the movie Risen which is set to release sometime in 2010.
